Gazelle Edge

This is the only piece of exercise equipment that I've ever had at home, that I've used this long. I was 40 lbs heavier when I first bought it (walmart, about $95). It would cause me to sweat after about 15", but as I became more fit it became too easy - similar to the other reviewers. Believe them, they are right - for someone who is basically fit this will not be a fast, vigorous workout. Nevertheless, it's still 4 stars:

1) What it lacks in fast calorie burning, it totally makes up for in the fact that you can do it for long periods enjoyably (think of it more of as marathon than a sprint). Do it for an hour while you watch your TV show, and the weight still will come off.

2) It has no adjustable resistance, but you can make up for that by strapping ankle weights around the poles in front. (I use 10 lb weights.) It makes you have to work harder and increases your calorie burn.

WD-40 works well to lube the joints - I've been able to do away completely with any squeak. I've never had to lube the axles, and I've put in major time on this thing.

While the foot paddles are painful on bare feet (obnoxiously knobby), I bought men's XL gel shoe inserts a few years ago and covered the tops of the paddles with them. Now I can do it with socks on and no pain.

I'm bringing mine to work tomorrow to use in my office during breaks (I have my own room with a door). I feel most like exercising during the day, but end up SITTING during my breaks, and would like to get part of my exercise regimen done with before I get home. The gazelle folds up nicely against the wall when not in use.

Excellent value for the money.Get more detail about Gazelle Edge.
