Gazelle Edge Review

Okay, let me start off by saying I have ONLY had the Gazelle Edge for a day, but I love it so far. I'm a female in my early 40's, and I was looking for something that I could use at home because my schedule has gotten so crazy lately that I found myself using my YMCA club membership only twice a week and I had decided to cancel the membership at the end of the month. Being that I have a heavy treadmill gathering dust in the basement already , I wanted something that I could move from room to room if needed and could hopefully fold up and put in a closet or under a bed when not in use. I had done a lot of research on ellipticals and found lots of reviews on Tony Little on Amazon. I was going to buy the Gazelle Power Plus which a local sporting goods store had a great deal on, but of course the day I went to buy it, they were sold out. I drove over to Walmart just to see if by chance they had any Tony Little products, and they had two Gazelle Edge's in stock. Wa hoo! I paid just under $90. The box was not heavy, but it was pretty long and awkward getting it into my car, but I was able to fit it in diagonally in my mid-sized car. So, yes -- if you can find one at your local Walmart and avoid paying shipping costs, by all means do so. I think many Walmart's are adding store pick up in early July if you order from their website, but anyway...back to my experience with the Gazelle.

I was going to have my husband put it together, but decided I should be totally capable of doing it myself. I put it together this morning and it took me about 1 1/2 hours total. The directions are very easy to understand and I would recommend reading them all the way through BEFORE you start putting it together. The hardest part of putting this together was sliding the axle tube on and putting on two plastic cover pieces that you put on after the Gazelle is assembled. It comes with everything that you need other than a Phillips head screwdriver. I do recommend NOT assembling this on a carpet because the axle tube is covered in grease -- although it is also covered in plastic -- just avoid ruining you carpet and assemble this on a kitchen floor or atleast put some old towels down underneath the axle tube. After I finished assembling it I took it for a test drive and I love it! I had "test driven" the Gazelle Power Plus before and other than this machine seeming much lighter and basic, I did not feel a difference in the resistance or movement. The Gazelle Edge comes with a booklet that shows you many different movements you can use to work different parts of your body. For the CHEAP cost and ease of putting this together, it is surprisingly well designed, well made and the booklet was actually very informative. I was NOT expecting this much for under $100. My 5 year old is totally fascinated by it and wants to use it too. I will post an update after I have had this for a few weeks, but at present, I think this is going to be a very good buy.

As promised, here is an update on the Gazelle Edge. (I originally posted about a week and a half ago.) I use it almost every day and I really like it. I can even lug it around from one room to the next (slowly) if I need to. The ONLY negative I have is that the monitor shows that I burn 300 calories in 30 minutes and according to my Polar heart rate monitor, I burn 200 max in 30 minutes. Of course, the Gazelle does not let you put in your own age, weight, etc., but I'm going to have to trust the heart rate monitor since it let me put my own stats in. The Gazelle Edge didn't come with a video, but I found a used one the other day at a resale shop, so I am anxious to do the workout to the video and see if I can get a better workout. All in all, I still think this is a great buy.Get more detail about Gazelle Edge.
